365 Project – 20100325 Nikon D3 vs iPhone

I shot this image of Heather with my Nikon D3 at the Webstar “Tipsy in the Club” music video. It’s an image that I gave to my client, Universal Motown Records. It’s not a terribly important shot because it features a model from the video rather than the featured artist, guest artist or director. However, this type of Atmosphere image will sometimes be published if a magazine or blog is doing extended coverage of the video shoot.
After shooting this, I pulled out my iPhone to do a quick Twitter shot.
The funny thing is, I like the iPhone shot better since I included the shoes. Sure the sharpness isn’t there, and the WB isn’t great…but it does show the shoes. And as a result, it’s the better image.
Also looks like you used a wide angle lens and it distorted the models hips and champagne bottle.
